Who We Are

Superintendent

Todd and Angela are West Texas natives. Todd grew up in Big Lake and Midland, where his praying mother kept him
involved in church. She took him to Roaring Springs Camp where he was saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, and called
to ministry! Camp was also the place he would later meet Angela!
Angela (maiden name, Murdoch) grew up in Amarillo, Lubbock and Snyder as a West Texas PK. She loved camp,
ministry and missions from a young age. She later graduated from Nelson University (then SAGU), and spent a year in
El Salvador as a missionary associate. Her love for missions and Spanish led her to move to El Paso.
A lifelong learner, Todd often jokes that he “took the long way” through his education, attending Midland College, Berean
School of the Bible, Global University, and Southwestern Assemblies of God University, now Nelson University.
He has continued to value learning and personal growth throughout his ministry journey.
Todd began serving in volunteer ministry at Midland First Assembly after recommitting his life to Christ. His first major
move and ministry opportunity came at First Assembly of God in Monahans, Texas, where he served as youth pastor,
children’s pastor, and church custodian. From there, he served as youth pastor at Open Door Assembly of God in
Odessa.
Todd and Angela crossed paths at camp, missions’ banquets, and during a missions trip planning trip to El Paso. It didn’t
take them long to realize they wanted their paths to come together! They will celebrate 28 years of marriage this
September. Their shared heart for evangelism, ministry and missions became the foundation for a life of serving the
Lord together.
After they married, Todd and Angela served as associate pastors at San Jacinto Assembly of God in Amarillo. They
later accepted their first lead pastorate at First Assembly of God in Lamesa, Texas.

Bro. Nelson and his wife, Regina currently serve as the Senior Pastor for First Assembly of God in Plainview, Texas.

Secretary / Treasurer

Rev. Billy Nickell has served as the Senior Pastor at First Assembly of God in Amarillo, Texas since March 2002. Prior to his pastorate in Amarillo, he pastored First Assembly of God in Canyon, Texas for twenty-two years. Billy attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University followed by eight years of ministry as an evangelist. He served as the Presbyter of the North Plains Section in the West Texas District for twenty-four years and as an Executive Presbyter for most of those years.

Director of Church Ministries

Rev. Clark Nussbaum and his wife Lora come to Lubbock to work in the district office of the Assemblies of God from Alpine.  They were pastors of Alpine First Assembly of God from 2013 to 2025.  They both have several years of church work before becoming Pastors.  They worked secular jobs in various capacities.  They look forward to working with the ministers and congregations of the West Texas District of the Assemblies of God.
